Towering volcanoes, long sandy beaches and unspoilt tropical rainforest are all part of this holiday in Costa Rica. Travelling from the Caribbean to the Pacific we cruise through jungle waterways, discover forest trails and search for exotic wildlife on this exciting journey through this diverse and friendly country.


ITINERARY


Day 1 Fly to San José. Day 2 Poas Volcano Explore San José, Costa Rica’s capital city. Visit the volcanic crater of Paos, and a coffee plantation. Days 3/4 Reptiles and rafting Travel to Turrialba. Discover fascinating reptiles at a serpentarium. Visit the Indian ceremonial centre at Guayabo. Option to go white- water rafting. Days 5/6 Tortuguero National Park Explore the dense jungle and cruise through the waterways searching for wildlife including howler monkeys and parrots. In season (June to September) there is the option to observe turtles. Day 7 Puerto Viejo de Sarapiqui Travel by boat and bus to Sarapiqui. Search for butterflies, birds and bats there. Days 8/9 Arenal Volcano Visit Costa Rica’s most active volcano. Option to relax in thermal springs. Days 10/11 Quetzal Cloud Forest Walk in Monteverde Cloud Forest. Option to explore high canopy walkways to spot exotic wildlife including the rare Queztal bird. Days 12/13 Pacific beaches Enjoy walking the trails of Manuel Antonio National Park, spotting


the local wildlife, or relaxing on the golden sandy beaches where monkeys and iguanas can often be seen. Day 14 San José Spend a relaxing morning by the coast before returning to the capital. Days 15/16 Overnight flight to the UK.
