CAIQUE CRUISE 8 DAYS – A RELAXING GREEK ISLAND CRUISE


We experience traditional Greece on this relaxing cruise around the quiet coves and harbours of Evia Island. Join our captain, Thanos, on board a traditional Greek sailing boat and explore the forts and ruins scattered along this historic coastline. Along the way we drop anchor at tranquil fishing villages and local tavernas to sample the delicious local Mediterranean cuisine.


ITINERARY


Day 1 Fly to Athens. Travel to Rafina and catch a ferry to Evia to board the ‘caique’ (sailing boat). Day 2 Karistos Sail to this harbour town. There is the option to visit the ‘Castello Rosso’ (Red Castle) or a winery. Swim in Bouros Bay. Day 3 Panagia Cruise past Niborio Bay and Kavaliani Island to this small fishing village. Visit the church with its 2,500-year-old olive trees and stream full of turtles. Day 4 Eretria Cruise to the private lagoon at Porto Buffalo. Explore ancient Eretria with its baths, mosaics and the Temple of Dafniforos Apollo. Day 5 Nea Styra Swim and snorkel before sailing to Nea Styra with its beautiful coastline and olive valleys. Day 6 Marmari Time in the hamlet of Porto Lafia where there is a chance to swim in the bay. Cruise to the fishing village of Marmari. Walk along the promenade. Day 7 Petali Islands and Karistos Cruise towards these private islands, a favourite of the Greek rich and famous. Return to Karistos where we overnight in a hotel. Day 8 Ferry to Rafina and bus to Athens. Fly to the UK.
