This action-packed adventure explores the legendary highlights of Jordan: we visit the lost city of Petra, discover Kerak’s Crusader castle and float in the Dead Sea. We camp under the stars in the Wadi Rum desert and learn the about life in the desert from a local Bedouin. We also enjoy the clear blue waters and coral reefs of the Red Sea.


ITINERARY


Day 1 Fly to Amman. Day 2 Jerash Take a guided tour around the colonnaded streets, temples and baths of this Roman city. Float in the Dead Sea. Day 3 Kerak Castle Visit Mount Nebo and St George’s Church in Madaba. Take the King’s Highway to Wadi Rum, stopping at the Crusader castle of Kerak. Travel by four-wheel drive into the Wadi Rum desert and camp under the stars. There is the option of a camel ride. Learn about desert life from a local Bedouin. Days 4/5 Red Sea Visit Aqaba on the Red Sea where it is possible to swim or snorkel. Days 6/7 Petra Take a guided tour of this ‘Rose Red’ city which was carved out of a colourful sandstone mountain. Explore the Treasury, Royal Tombs and 8,000-seat amphitheatre. In your freetime the option to learn to cook a Bedouin meal. Day 8 Amman A free morning. Drive to Amman. Day 9 Fly to the UK.
