WESTERN CANADA PIONEER 14 DAYS – ROCKY MOUNTAINS EXPLORER


From emerald-green lakes and rushing waterfalls to snow-capped mountains and hot springs we explore many of Canada’s natural highlights. We discover the vast Columbia Glacier, Athabasca Falls and Lake Louise. Along the way we visit a bear sanctuary in Yoho, hike through Red Canyon and enjoy gentle walks through Jasper National Park.


ITINERARY


Day 1 Fly to Calgary. Days 2/3 Waterton Visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Buffalo Jump before travelling to Waterton Lakes National Park. Hike in the Red Canyon and visit the buffalo pen. Optional cruise on the lake. Day 4 Whiteswan Lake Provincial Park Travel to the park and relax in the natural hot springs. Day 5 Golden Ranch Explore Kootenoy National park. Optional rafting or horse riding. Days 6 Yoho National Park Visit the Kicking Horse Grizzly Bear Sanctuary. Explore the park and discover spectacular waterfalls and emerald lakes. Days 8/9 Jasper National Park Search for local wildlife including elk. Optional canoe trip on Maligne Lake. Day 10 Icefield Parkway Enjoy a scenic drive to Banff stopping at Columbia Glacier, Athabasca Falls and Lake Louise. Day 11 Banff Explore the town, steeped in cowboy and pioneer history. Optional walk to the rushing falls in Johnston Canyon. Day 12 Canmore Explore Chester Lake and hike through Kananaskis Country. Days 13/14 Overnight flight to the UK.
