ITINERARY
Days 1/2 Overnight flight to Beijing. Day 3 Beijing Explore Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. Take an optional rickshaw around the old city or fly a kite in Yongdimen Square. Days 4/5 Great Wall Walk along the legendary Wall at Jinshaling. Take an overnight train to Luoyang. Day 6 Kung Fu Visit the Shaolin Temple with its Kung Fu monks and have a martial arts lesson at a local school. Day 7 Sacred caves Visit the Longmen Buddhist grottoes. Take a train to Xian. Day 8 Terracotta Warriors Discover the thousands of life-size models of warriors, horses and chariots that form Xian’s ‘Terracotta Army’. Day 9 Xian Free time to explore the Old Quarter, visit a traditional puppet show or cycle on the old city walls. Day 10 Pandas Meet the loveable pandas at the Chengdu Research Centre. Days 11/12 Peaceful Yangshuo Explore nearby villages on a bike ride; options to try Chinese cooking and bamboo rafting. Days 13/14 Shanghai Discover modern China in this vibrant city. Day 15 Fly to the UK.
