From lush forests to dramatic sea cliffs, beautiful sandy beaches and underground caverns, South Africa’s ‘Garden Route’ is an ideal setting for this varied holiday. There are a great range of activities available: from game-viewing to boat trips, mountain biking and whale-watching. We explore the beautiful coastline, visit the vibrant city of Cape Town and venture deep into the dripstone caverns of the Cango Caves.
ITINERARY
Days 1/2 Overnight flight to Port Elizabeth. Drive to Addo. Day 3 Addo elephants Enjoy a game drive in Addo National Park. Search for elephant, buffalo, antelope and leopard. Day 4 Schotia Game Reserve Visit the reserve- famous for its lion population. Search for this majestic animal during an evening game drive. Experience the local cuisine with a ‘bush braai’ dinner. Day 5 Tsitsikamma Drive along the Garden Route’s spectacular coastline to Tsitsikamma National Park. Enjoy walks through the park trails and explore the dramatic ‘Storm’s River Mouth’. Days 6/8 Plettenberg Bay Based at ‘Plett’
enjoy the beautiful beaches of the Garden Route. Explore Knysna and take a boat trip across the lagoon to Featherbed Nature Reserve. There is the option to go whale-watching (in season) or hike along the beautiful Robberg Peninsula. Day 9 Cango Caves Visit an ostrich farm and explore the dripstone caverns of Cango Caves. Day 10 Hermanus Whale-watch from the shore of this small seaside resort. Days 11/13 Cape Town Explore the vibrant city of Cape Town. Visit Seal Island, Cape Point and Boulders Beach. Travel to the summit of Table Mountain. Days 14/15 Overnight flight to the UK.
