FAMILY ACTIVE ANDALUCIA! 8 DAYS – ADVENTURES IN SOUTHERN SPAIN AND PORTUGAL

Cycle, kayak and walk with us through some of southern Spain and Portugal’s most remote areas. In this rural corner of Western Europe we discover a landscape of forested hills, mountain villages and shimmering lakes. Later we cruise along the scenic Guadiana River, travel to the coast and relax among its beautiful sand dunes.

ITINERARY

Day 1 Fly to Seville. Travel to Castano del Robledo village, near Aracena. Day 2 Cycling A gentle 20km ride through the beautiful Aracena National Park with a chance to cool off in a river enroute. Day 3 Walking Hike 5km to the pilgrimage site of Alajar and travel to Aracena town by bus. There is the option to explore one of Spain’s largest cave systems, a 13th century Knights Templar, a ruined casle or to go horse- riding. Day 4 Kayaking Cross the

Portuguese border to Mertola and kayak 7km down the Guadiana River. Day 5 Off-road excursion A free day to explore Mertola or take an optional four-wheel drive trip into the hills. Days 6/7 Beach Time Travel by boat, train and bus to the southern coastal town of Tavira. Take a ferry out to sandy islands a short way offshore where we can swim and relax on the vast sand dunes.
