This action-packed journey across Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand takes us to many of Southeast Asia’s great sights: from vibrant cities to dense jungles and tropical beaches. We explore the Chu Chi tunnels from the Vietnam War, discover the impressive temples of ancient Angkor where Tomb Raider and many other films have been shot, and visit the floating markets of the Mekong Delta.


ITINERARY


Days 1/2 Overnight flight to Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon). Day 3 Saigon and Cu Chi Tunnels Discover the underground Viet Cong hideout used during the Vietnam War. Explore old Saigon in cyclos (cycle carriages). Days 4/5 Mekong Delta Cruise on traditional flat-bottomed boats along the river, experiencing local life and visit the floating markets. Days 6/7 Phnom Penh Take a scenic speedboat ride to Cambodia’s royal capital. Spend time roaming the city: visit the Killing Fields, Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum or the Grand Palace. Days 8/10 Temples of Angkor Travel by bus to lively Siem Reap, home to the world’s largest ancient temple city buried deep in the jungle. Explore the impressive Tomb Raider temples in traditional tuk tuks (rickshaws). Optional boat trip on Tonle Sap Lake. Days 11/12 Tropical Beaches Relax on the palm-fringed beaches of the Thai island of Koh Chang. Days 13/14 Bangkok Travel to vibrant Bangkok: visit the city’s many sights and shops. Days 15/16 Fly to the UK.
