VOLCANOES & DRAGONS SCHOONER ADVENTURE 15 DAYS – INDONESIAN VOYAGE OF DISCOVERY
Jump into a marine adventure on board a traditional sailing boat as we cruise among the untouched ‘Archipelago of the Gods’ in Indonesia. Along the way we stop to explore volcanoes, crater lakes and coral reefs. We search for the famous Komodo Dragons which grow up to three metres long!.
ITINERARY
Days 1/2 Overnight flight to Denpasar in Bali. Travel to Sanur Beach. Day 3 Sanur Beach A day to relax. Days 4/11 Schooner cruise Board the Pinisi Schooner (a traditional Indonesian sailing ship) and follow the ancient trade routes between the paradise islands of this archipelago. Land on Komodo Island and search for the ‘Dragons’ (giant lizards) that populate the arid landscape. Visit the active volcano on Sangean Island which towers 2000m above the clear blue seas. Take a drive to Kelimutu Volcano on Flores to look down into the
colourful lakes of its three vast craters. Search for dolphins and whales off the coast of Rinca and hike inland to search for wild horses, boars, monkeys and exotic birds. Enjoy beach barbecues and snorkel off the side of the ship along the way. Day 12 Maumere Visit a small village for traditional weaving and dancing. Fly to Bali. Day 13 Bali Free time to relax on the beach or explore the island. Days 14/15 Overnight flight to the UK.
