MOUNTAINS & SOUKS 8 DAYS – ADVENTURES IN MAGICAL MOROCCO
We start with a horse-drawn caleche ride through Marrakech and visit the famous Djemma El Fna square to see jugglers, acrobats and snake charmers. In the High Atlas mountains we enjoy a change of pace, with gentle walks amongst fields and orchards, then in the colourful coastal town of Essaouira we have time to relax on the beaches and explore the fascinating backstreets.
ITINERARY
Day 1 Fly to Marrakech. Day 2 Marrakech Tour one of the world’s most magical cities in a horse-drawn caleche and visit Marrakech’s famous souks. Day 3 Atlas villages Drive to the small village of Ouirgane in the High Atlas mountains and explore the area. Visit the historic Tin Mal mosque. Day 4 Mountain walk Gentle walks through the
glorious mountain scenery. Meet the local Berber people, known as the ‘Lords of the Atlas’. Days 5/7 Essaouira Travel to the ancient Portuguese port with its white-washed walls to enjoy pastries at pavement cafés and fresh fish on the harbour. Explore the bright medina and sandy beach. Return to Marrakech for the final night. Day 8 Fly to the UK.
