Enjoy an active family holiday on the beautiful Greek island of Evia. Based in the small coastal town of Karistos we explore the island on foot and by bicycle, uncovering its rich history including the 13th century Castello Rosso. We also relax on the golden sandy beaches, snorkel in the coves at Marmari Bay and enjoy mouth-watering local cuisine in traditional tavernas.


ITINERARY


Day 1 Fly to Athens. Catch a ferry to Evia and travel to the coastal town of Karistos. Day 2 Karistos Guided tour of Karistos including the local museum, basilica and waterfront. Visit local beaches and coves for swimming and snorkelling. Day 3 Ancient castle Visit the 13th century Castello Rosso, the Roman aqueduct and the local hill villages of Gourna. Enjoy a free afternoon to relax on the beach. Optional sea kayaking. Day 4 Cycling Pedal to the wetlands and search for some of the prolific wildlife. Ride to the western beaches and enjoy swimming in the warm waters of the Aegean Sea. Day 5 Free day Enjoy a day to relax by the pool. There is the option to visit Athens or take a boat trip to the islet of Pelaitisa to swim and snorkel in the sea. Day 6 Coastal walk Take a gentle walk to the village of Aetos, stopping to swim and relax on the beaches along the way. Day 7 Marmari Bay Enjoy snorkelling in the volcanic coves of Zanstani and visit the sand bar of Megali Ammos. Day 8 Take a ferry to the mainland. Fly to the UK
