Where: To be completed in the classroom with some research, such as interviews, to be done outside the classroom.

Tips for Success
• Choose a topic that interests you. • Use the CBA check-in activity at the end of each topic to see what you are interested in.
• Revise the action verbs on page xiii of the activity book to help you understand the questions being asked.
• Read the features of quality and use them as a guide when completing the project. • Practise presenting in front of the mirrors, with friends and/or family.
Features of Quality
Your teacher will use the features of quality when assessing your work. The features of quality are an important assessment tool (success criterion). Ten tips for achieving an exceptional descriptor
These tips are based on the features of qualities of the exceptional descriptor.
1. Communicate with exceptional confidence and persuasiveness. 2. Demonstrate a very comprehensive knowledge of the topic. 3. Present information in a logical way. 4. Present in a structured way – have a beginning, a middle and an end. 5. Speak slowly and clearly, using eye contact and hand gestures.
6. Use relevant support material to engage the audience at appropriate times to reinforce your point.
7. Support material must be creative. 8. Captivate the audience. 9. Demonstrate an ability to reflect exceptionally. 10. Show how your opinions and points of view have changed since starting the task.
Getting Started on Your CBA
1. Look back at the units covered and check where you have showed an interest by ticking the CBA activity at the end of the unit.
2. Make a short list of these units and see which one interests you the most. Now that you have decided on your project, you must cover the following three areas.
Completed by individual students and corrected by class teacher using the features of quality. Students will be awarded a descriptor.
