Land
Tesla’s cars use lithium batteries. Lithium is mined from the earth.
Resources such as land and lithium are limited. Businesses like Tesla need to be aware of this so they can plan for their own future and be sustainable.
Labour Tesla hires workers to design and make the cars.
Workers are also known as employees. Employees are paid a wage or salary for work done. Employees have rights and responsibilities. Employers such as Tesla also have rights and responsibilities (see Unit 10).
Capital
Tesla use high-spec equipment to produce their cars.
Equipment is an example of capital expenditure. This is money spent on large items.
Equipment can also go down in value. This is known as depreciation. These will be recorded in the Final Accounts of Tesla (see Unit 15).
Enterprise Elon Musk is the entrepreneur behind Tesla.
An entrepreneur is someone who spots a gap in the market and tries to fill it by making a product which satisfies consumer needs and wants. They hope to make a profit. They have many skills and characteristics (see Unit 9).
