Government departments make policies that affect our everyday lives by providing services we use. For example: education, health, social, defence and environmental services.
Some government policies try to redistribute income by providing the less well off with income through social welfare payments.

Economic Policies of the Government
The government has many issues which it must try to control with economic policies. Below are some of the aims of the government:
• Promote economic growth and create full employement. Inflation should be controlled and the balance of trade needs to be balanced.
