Work Work is generally defined as a job which requires effort. You don’t necessarily receive payment for work, e.g. studying for your Junior Cycle exams, cleaning your house, helping out without payment in your family business.

• It offers the opportunity to develop skills and expertise, e.g. a Third-Year Business student helping their family prepare a household budget.
• Individuals feel good after the work is done. This contributes to an individual’s wellbeing.
