B. The following is taken from a forum discussing combi boilers. Mark Dwyer Mon 5 April 18.30
Hi everyone, our boiler has been causing us trouble. We want to switch to a combi boiler but my father-in-law says it’s a bad idea, but I like the idea of a new boiler and new water tank. I suppose it’s cheaper to replace the two in one go????

I got the combi boiler last year, huge savings on gas and the whole system is much quieter. I’d say go for it.

Thanks @ConorO’Connell, that’s great to know. Do you have a bath as my father-in-law says that the combi takes ages to fill them and that’s putting us off.

How many bathrooms do you have? If you have more than one you won’t have enough water to run two showers.

We have a combi for a four bedroom, two bathroom house and we can use both showers without a problem, but one of the showers is electric. The only problem is it can take longer for the water to get to the downstairs shower, but not sure whether that’s because of the combi or the location of the bathroom.
