The solutions to deforestation can be led by people, governments and companies. People can make diff erences by: 1. Using less paper, as more than 40% of timber logging is used to make paper 2. Using recycled paper and cardboard or paper from managed forests 3. Repairing and reusing furniture and other products made of timber 4. Reducing the amount of fi rewood burned
5. Using RSPO labelled products, which show that the palm oil comes from a sustainable source
6. Supporting organisations such as Greenpeace and the World Wildlife Fund
7. Educating family and friends about the consequences of deforestation and the benefi ts of the forests
8. Voting for politicians who support protection of the tropical rainforests 9. Planting trees
10. Making people aware of companies who benefi t from deforestation and exploit indigenous people.
