Students should be able to show an appreciation of their responsibility to promote and defend their individual human rights and those of others.
I can identify responsibilities that are ignored and name the consequences of these.
When people fail to recognise and act on their responsibilities, it can have consequences. Sometimes the consequences are minor, such as forgetting to turn the light off at night. But sometimes they can be serious, for example, forgetting to put the spark guard in front of the fi re can lead to a house fi re.
Working in groups, look at the following situations. Identify the responsibilities being ignored and what the consequences are of not acting responsibly.
Situation
1. Paul always makes noises when Nina speaks in class.
2. Marcus forgot to bring his Maths book to school. While Jean is not looking, he takes her book and writes his name on it.
3. Aoibh has asthma, but she smokes in the yard during breaktime.
4. Ciara is always making nasty comments about her classmates on social media.
