A is a thermometer. Thermometers are used to measure temperature. The normal unit is degrees Celsius. B is a blood pressure gauge. It is used to measure blood pressure. The normal unit is millimetres of mercury. C is a set of scales. Scales are used to measure weight. The normal unit is grams or kilograms. D is a height gauge. Of course, a height gauge is used to measure height. The normal unit is metres or centimetres.

1. Refer students to the photos again. Ask: Does Angie look healthy? (Yes.) Explain that she is 18 years old. Ask students to guess what they think her temperature, blood pressure, height and weight might be. Write guesses on the board.

1. Set a time limit of one minute. Students write the numbers next to the correct word.
2. Play the recording, pausing after each number
for students to repeat. Check the vowel sound in each word and the stressed syllable on ~teen words (sixteen) and on the first syllable on ~ty words, e.g., sixty. Get individual students to repeat pairs of numbers, e.g., 13 / 30, with the correct stress.
