sobrevida com qualidade variando de dez a vinte meses. Entretanto, cães tra- tados apenas com prednisona tendem a sobreviver poucas semanas, podendo chegar a poucos meses, resposta similar à obtida em pacientes não tratados. O único ponto favorável ao uso da predni- sona consiste na possibilidade de mini- mizar a progressão da doença de forma rápida, permitindo apenas pouco tempo de qualidade de vida aceitável aos pacientes que não serão tratados com protocolos mais adequados.
Considerações finais Neste estudo, constatamos que o lin-
foma cutâneo é frequente em cães de nossa região e deve ser considerado dentre os diagnósticos das afecções que acometem a pele. As fêmeas foram mais acometidas, o que implica a necessidade de investigações futuras sobre uma mo- dulação hormonal na patogênese da doença. Não houve diferença na ocor- rência das formas epiteliotrópica e não epiteliotrópica, no entanto a classifica- ção histológica do tipo de linfoma cutâ- neo auxilia na escolha do protocolo te- rapêutico mais adequado, e, consequen- temente, no aumento da sobrevida do paciente.
