SAFETY • Be careful when handling the lamp in case the bulb or exterior is hot.
Method 1. Connect the electric fan to the motor. 2. Connect the solar panel to the motor using the wires. 3. Place the lamp 30 cm away from the solar panel, using a ruler to measure the distance. 4. Turn on the lamp and record your observation of the fan speed. 5. Repeat the investigation, moving the lamp 5 cm closer to the solar panel each time. 6. Record your results.

To adjust the investigation to test for efficiency: • Repeat the investigation using a CFL. Record your results.
• Repeat your investigation by changing the angle of the solar panel to the light source. Use a protractor to measure the angle the panel is placed at. Keep the distance fixed for this part of the investigation. Record your results.
