The ‘email’ written production usually comes in Question 2 (b) is therefore not compulsory. It is worth 30 marks, and if you choose this question you should write a minimum of 75 words. You should show that you are familiar with the layout of an email:
You will be given a context and up to five bullet points to deal with. Make sure you deal with all the points given. If you don’t, even if your French is excellent, you will not reach the top mark.
If you are writing to a person you do not know or someone you need to be polite with, use the ‘vous’ form and keep your tone formal. (See the section Focus examen page 294.) If you are writing to a friend, keep an informal tone.
