As in English, the near future is used for expressing one’s intentions, things one plans to do, or events likely to happen soon, e.g.: Qu’est-ce que tu vas faire demain ? What are you going to do tomorrow? Je vais organiser une fête avec mes amis. I’m going to organise a party with my friends. To form the near future, use the present tense of aller and add the infinitive.

If the infinitive verb is reflexive, remember to adapt the pronoun: Je

In the negative form, n’ / ne … pas goes either side of the verb aller: Je ne vais pas me lever tôt ce weekend.
There are no irregular verbs in the near future! Traduisez ces phrases.

b. He’s going to fail if he doesn’t start studying.
c. We’re going to sit the exam tomorrow.
d. Are you (pl.) going to travel after the Leaving Cert?
