observed by SA-β-galactosidase activity staining. A clear delay in the senescence appearance was observed in the treated cells compared to the control where the senescence appeared sooner and increased faster (figure 3). Treated cells can thus be define as « slow agers » compared to non- treated cells.
Clinical study design To evaluate, in vivo, the effect of Iris pallida extract on nighttime skin regeneration to reverse the signs of aging, a double-blind clinical study was carried out on 35 volunteers (35-76 years- mean age: 51.31) applying the Iris Pallida extract formulations following a night- routine. All evening, for 1 month, volunteers applied, first, a serum following by a cream containing 1% Iris Pallida or not. The morning, all volunteers applied a placebo cream to ensure all participants were using the same product. The clinical study was conducted in May-June to mimic accelerated aging induced by increased sun and temperature exposure during this time.

Reverse perceived skin age Perceived age was assessed using the artificial intelligence-based facial analysis software SkinAnalys.I.A. This software analyzes skin directly from photographs to estimate perceived age. The AI algorithm is trained to determine the similarities between the photo taken at the time and photos annotated by dermatologists according to seven skin parameters (wrinkles, hydration, firmness, pores, evenness, pigmentation spots, and eye contour). Thus, the perceived age estimated is a reliable measure, based on several parameters known to influence perceived age. After one month of use, volunteers using
formulations based on Iris pallida extract appeared, on average, 1.2 years younger, and this perceived rejuvenation could reach 4 years. Conversely, volunteers in the placebo group appeared 5 months older, likely due to summer conditions (figure 4). This result demonstrates that perceived rejuvenation can be mitigated by nighttime skin repair.

Revive the visible signs of youth In addition to skin perceived age, skin wrinkling, one of the main signs of age on Caucasian skin, was measured by combination of fringe projection and stereometry technologies with the AEAVA-HE* system (Eotech*). After one month of applications, with the
biofunctional containing cream, softens the appearance of wrinkles of the eye contour, significantly decreased in volume, area, and circumference (Figure 5). Besides, other visible signs of youth as skin luminosity, redness and hydration were assessed and here again, the group applicating 1% Iris pallida formulations showed statistically significant improvement compared to placebo for all evaluated parameters. In summary, in one month, the 1% Iris pallida
extract, applied following a nighttime skincare routine, diminished the appearance of wrinkles and improved skin tone, thus reducing the perceived age of the skin by 1.2 years compared to the placebo group.
