active formula compared to its placebo after one month, on the face and forearm. An overall effect on skin hydration is observed.
Along with the statistically significant increase in hydration index (+23.4%) measured by corneometry, the hydration mapping shows a more homogeneous distribution of hydration over the face (Figure 6). The analysis of the skin topography using
Visioscan® on the forearms reflects, for the active cream, a reduction in scaliness (-48%), combined with reduced roughness depth (-7.8%). This refining effect is confirmed on before / after acquisitions of the skin topography (Figure 7).
Silky-touch skin The Touchy finger® is a highly sophisticated device, engineered to mimic human touch and quantify surface softness. It is equipped with a tactile sensor ring able to capture vibrations and force pressure. When touching a surface, the vibrations are
converted into an audible signal, expressed as a decibel equivalent, then transformed into softness parameters: the quieter the signal, the smoother and softer the surface. In the study, skin softness changes were assessed through measurements on the volunteers’ forearms before treatment and repeated after 1 month of treatment use. The significant reduction in skin vibrations (-3.44 dB, p < 0.05) demonstrates a noticeably softer skin surface, as if it was wrapped by a cocoon of silk. Finally, the studies provided insights into the
well-being component induced by the use of the active cream. Emotional measures have been combined:
FACS (Facial Action Coding system) for the analysis of facial discomfort, Mirror Test™ for an emotional assessment by the panelists of their physical appearance (using verbatims and prosody analysis), and the EmoChar®, which delivers an emotional characterization associated

with the product experience. The discomfort index decreased significantly
after one month of use, as did the emotional burden when the subjects evoked their feelings about their skin and physical appearance. The perceptions of the skin at D28 are very distinct and more positive compared to D0: ‘Soothed, Like/skin, Comfort, Less/tingling, Scratchy’ compared to “Tight skin, Discomfort, Concerned, Dry’.
Finally, the emotional characterization
carried out with EmoChar revealed a positive emotional profile, associated with the dimensions ‘Tenderness’, ‘Self-esteem’ and ‘Relaxation’, highlighting the soothing of the skin and a restored comfort and self-esteem (Figure 8). Overall, these results confirm that the Morus
alba - NaDES complex can restore the skin physiological balance and reinforce well-being: the skin looks visibly more hydrated, smoother, and wrapped in a soft, comforting veil of protection.
Conclusion The Morus alba - NaDES complex, designed to mirror the protective function of silk, responds to the current challenges of adapting to unpredictable, sometimes extreme changes in our environment.
