atopic-prone skin, and contributes to long-term skin comfort and resilience.

Four grades, four personalities: differentiated profiles for every need Because each cosmetic formulation has its own specific requirements in terms of texture, function, target use, and sensoriality, we have developed four distinct profiles of natural petrolatum. Each is designed to optimize technical performance while respecting clean beauty, biocompatibility, and sustainability standards. All grades are COSMOS approved, and only Type A and Type E grades are vegan.

Natural Vaselin Type A – For skin care formulas and an enveloping texture Type A grade was specifically developed for formulas with the primary objective of providing

immediate and long-term hydration (Figure 1), while ensuring protection, stability, and high skin tolerance — including for the most sensitive skin, even that of babies. Evaluation of trans-epidermal water loss (TEWL)

(Figure 2) highlights an interesting distinction between the synthetic petrolatum and our Natural Vaselin Type A. In short-term, the synthetic grade demonstrates slightly lower TEWL values, reflecting its strong occlusive power and its capacity to limit immediate water evaporation. However, despite this difference, Natural Vaselin

Type A ensures an equivalent hydrating effect thanks to its balanced lipid composition, which reinforces the skin barrier while maintaining essential physiological exchanges. Its more breathable structure allows the skin to retain moisture naturally rather than trapping it beneath an impermeable film. Over the long term, dermatological evaluations confirm that this biomimetic approach supports

the skin’s self-regulating mechanisms, helping to restore and preserve optimal hydration levels. Dermatologists increasingly recognize that

such natural, breathable protection contributes to a healthier and more resilient epidermis, offering sustainable hydration benefits comparable to, and in some cases superior to, traditional synthetic grades. One hundred per cent plant-based and

formulated exclusively with food-grade ingredients, this grade is a clean and safe alternative to synthetic versions. It offers a rounded, slightly softening texture similar to classic Vaseline, delivering a protective and comforting sensation upon application. Its matte, texturizing finish perfectly meets the needs of modern skin care products that combine effectiveness and natural elegance. Thanks to its proven tolerance on mucous

membranes, it is particularly suitable for sensitive areas such as the lips while guaranteeing long- lasting hydration. It effectively structures oily phases, which also makes it an excellent choice for styling waxes, balms and lip care products, where hold, comfort and protection are sought.

Natural Vaselin Type B – Shine and coverage for anhydrous makeup Similar to Type A grade, Type B is distinguished by enhanced shine and a subtly more satiny texture, ideal for makeup formulas seeking radiance and comfort. A natural alternative to synthetic grade, it offers better skin absorption and increased biocompatibility, while maintaining optimal hydration. Specially designed for anhydrous makeup

formulas, it offers a perfect balance between shine, coverage, and structure. Its texture, very
