Walking in Andalucia


On this walking tour of Andalucia, we explore an ancient network of trails linking picturesque white-washed Moorish villages through a landscape of vineyards and olive groves. We hike along parts of an old ‘Silk Route’ and can visit the spectacular Alhambra Palace in Granada. Every evening, we enjoy delicious local food and sample the region’s famous sweet wine.

Day 1 Join tour Malaga airport and drive to Canillas de Albaida. Day 2 Mule Trails Follow old mule paths to the village of Competa. Day 3 Old ‘Silk Route’ Travel by taxi to Puerto Collado and hike along a n o ld si lk r oute to C anillas. Day 4 Moorish Villages Trek through holm oak woods to the village of Salares. Day 5 Granada A free day to relax. Optional visit to Granada and the Alhambra Palace. Day 6 Cerro Verde Hike along a steep-sided valley

Posada la Plaza


Stay in Posada la Plaza, a family- run hotel in the centre of the small village of Canillas de Albaida. The 16th century building was used as a convent and then as a family home, before being converted into a small hotel in 2004. Rooms are comfortable and air-conditioned. A small spa is available to guests at an additional charge.
