Explore the Amalfi Coast
A self-guided walking holiday that is all about enjoying the Italian way of life - good food and wine, the sun and the sea. Visit the panoramic Amalfi Coast and the magnifi cent Bay of Naples with the volcanic Mt. Vesuvius towering on the horizon. Spend the day walking on the beautiful island of Capri, then hike along scenic coastal ‘Path of the Gods’. Visit bustling fi shing villages and go for a dip in the crystal-clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea.
8 day itinerary
Day 1 Your journey starts in Sorrento where you spend the fi rst two nights. Depending on your arrival time you can visit the old centre of the town. Day 2 Capri Join the locals on a public boat to Capri. Here there are two options - visit Emperor Tiber’s villa or a longer coastal walk to the Blue Grotto. Day 3/4 Cliffs and beaches Climb up to Sant’Agata and descend to the beach at Marina del Cantone for two nights. A choice of two

Day 6 Amalfi trails Public bus to Amalfi . On the fi rst day choose between a short walk

allowing you more time to explore the backstreets of Amalfi or visit Ravello - alternatively a take a longer scenic walk along the Valle delle Ferriere. Your last day is left for the most famous walk in the area - the ‘Path of the Gods’ and a visit to the colourful village of Positano. Day 8 Your journey ends in Amalfi .

Accommodation: 7 nights standard hotels. Meals: 7 breakfasts are included. Trekking details: On this journey you walk 49 km over 5 days (an average of 10 km per day) with the opportunity for longer walks on several of the days. Your route follows well marked footpaths and mule tracks. Many of the footpaths along the coast involve negotiating stone staircases. On some of the days you will catch the local bus to access the start/end of a walk. Luggage transfer: Included between hotels on days 3 and 5. On day 6 you will take your luggage with you on the local bus from Colli San Pietro to Amalfi . Recommended airport: Naples.
