Choosing
your Trekking holiday
With so much choice it’s hard to know where to start. We’re here to help you choose your perfect holiday!
We’ve categorised each tour by style, comfort and trek grade – helping you to hone in on a tour that’s perfect for you. If you need more assistance, please give us a call.
Trek grade
All of our walking and trekking are graded to help you choose the right trip. Our grading takes into account the daily walking distances, as well as the terrain, the altitude and the amount of ascent. When a trip falls between two grades we use an intermediate grade, e.g. easy to moderate. The tour pages include information about each trek, as well as a gradient chart. More detailed information can be found in our Tour Notes – available to download from our website.
Easy
Suitable for most people in good health, these easy walks are predominantly on good paths, at low altitude and on undemanding terrain. Previous walking or trekking experience is not necessary.
E
Moderate For those who are fi t and active, these moderate walks are normally on good paths and tracks at low altitude. Days may include some fairly demanding ascents and descents, so previous experience is preferable but not essential.
E
Challenging You need to have a good level of fi tness and previous trekking experience is recommended. Trekking days are generally longer, challenging and at higher altitudes.
U
Tough For our toughest treks, you must be physically fi t and a confi dent and experienced trekker. Trekking days are long and tough, with diffi cult terrain and you should expect demanding ascents and descents.
How comfortable?
Whether you want to spend your nights in comfortable hotels or you’re happy to keep the costs down and stay somewhere more authentic, you’ll fi nd something here. If camping under the stars is your thing then our basic range is for you.
