On this walking tour to the Canary Islands we explore the quiet island of La Gomera and the perfect volcanic cone of El Teide on Tenerife. On La Gomera we hike through varied and dramatic scenery including beautiful steep-sided valleys, quiet villages and the verdant cloudforest of Garajonay National Park. The tour ends with a walk in El Teide National Park taking in the spectacular views of this iconic Tenerife landmark.
8 day tour itinerary
Day 1 Join tour in Vilafl or, a village in the foothills of the volcano Mount Teide, Tenerife. Day 2 Garajonay National Park Drive to the port of Los Cristianos and take a ferry to San Sebastian on La Gomera. This small harbour town will be our base for exploring the island. In the afternoon we walk through the cloudforest of Garajonay National Park and summit Alto de Garajonay. Day 3 Vallehermoso Drive to Vallehermoso.

Walk through palm groves and via the distinctive landmark of Roque Cano to Agulo village. Day 4 La Laja Starting from Collada de Peraza we hike down to the green valley of La Laja. Continue along the river and valley to Chejelipes. Free afternoon to explore. Day 5 Hermigua Circular walk from Hermigua via the black volcanic sand beach of Playa Caleta. Day 6 Free day Opportunity to explore the local

beaches or take a walk along a coastal path. Day 7 El Teide, Tenerife Return to Tenerife by ferry. Drive to Mount Teide to view the crater. Take a circular walk to Mount Guajara and enjoy the views back over the volcano. Day 8 Tour ends after breakfast in Vilafl or.
