Please read carefully through the following information about booking an Explore Walking Adventure. When you book (whether by phone or online), you will be asked if you have read and understood these pages, as well as our Booking Conditions.
Age
The minimum age on all group tours featured in this brochure is 14. If you are booking a self-guided trip please talk to us at the time of booking about the ages of your party. A parent or adult must accompany people under the age of 18. Most of our travellers are aged between 25 and 55. If you are over 79 years of age at the time of travel, we may require you to provide proof of medical fitness and full insurance cover.
Tour prices
The prices shown in this brochure are for guidance only. They represent the basic per-person cost of the tour at the time of publication of this brochure. For self- guided tours the price is based on two persons sharing. The price at the time of booking may be different. The latest guide prices for each tour departure can be found on our website:

Our price guarantee
Once we have confirmed your booking we guarantee the price won’t change: we will not pass on surcharges of any kind. Unlike most other tour operators we will not pass on unexpected additional costs like fuel surcharges and tax increases.
What’s included in your tour price? 3 Transport, meals and accommodation: all details are outlined in the individual tour itinerary.
3 Tour Leader: the services of a Tour Leader are included on nearly all group tours. In most cases the Tour Leader will accompany you for the full duration of the tour. On some group tours a local representative may be provided instead (this will be outlined in the individual Tour Notes).
3 Local crew: as well as drivers and local guides, interpreters, cooks, helpers and porters may be provided on some tours (details will be outlined in the individual Tour Notes).
3 Activities, equipment, sightseeing and visits: please see individual Tour Notes for details.
3 For self-guided tours, we include accommodation, transport and meals as outlined in the individual tour itinerary. We also provide route notes, destination information and maps.
Transfers We are pleased to be able to include airport transfers for customers booking a flight inclusive or land only tour where the flight arrives on the same day the tour starts and departs on the day the tour ends. Where tours join and end at the overseas airport, one arrival and one departure transfer will be provided for the whole group. In order to be included in this transfer, please ensure that you arrive at the airport for the given joining time and book flights departing after the given ending time. www.explore.co.uk/transfers. You are responsible for telling us your flight details and keeping us updated with any changes.
What’s not included?
The price of the tour does not include: visa fees, vaccinations, passport costs, international departure taxes, excess baggage charges, optional tours and excursions, hotel porters or meals (other than those we list as included). We also do not include items of a personal nature; such as laundry, room service charges, drinks or phone calls. Tips for personal service are not included and are usually expected. If you book on a ‘Tour Only’ basis we do not include flights or trains from the UK or departure taxes. For self-guided tours we do not include the services of a Tour Leader or local guides. Some self-guided tours require payments for certain services such as transfers and hotel taxes to be paid locally on arrival.
Who travels on Explore group tours? Your travel companions come from a wide range of locations and backgrounds. However, because we only offer English-speaking tours, the majority will be from the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the US. Everyone will share your passion for adventure travel.
Group tour group size
The size of the group on group tours usually ranges from between 10 to 16 people; the average group size is usually 12 people, depending on the type of tour, the transport and accommodation used and activities included.
