Independent European distributor and manufacturer, Cornelius Polska, has for the third time been named among the Forbes Diamonds 2020 list, which names the fastest growing companies in Poland. The annually published report highlights businesses that display strong forward momentum in commerce and innovation in the Polish region, the sixth largest economy in the EU.

Expansion of xanthan gum production


Jungbunzlauer has announced an increase of xanthan gum production capacity in their manufacturing facility in Pernhofen, Austria. Driven by growing customer demand, Jungbunzlauer has invested in new fermentation and purification equipment as well as a new, fully automated packaging line.


The expansion of the


Pernhofen site will strengthen Jungbunzlauer’s capacity to provide xanthan gum grades in numerous applications. The company will continue to produce xanthan gum only by fermentation of natural, non- GM carbohydrates, strictly using non-GMO microorganism strains.


In addition, the new production equipment will further optimise Jungbunzlauer’s production processes, helping to reduce energy and water


consumption, and minimise waste streams.

Six non-competing raw material suppliers have decided to join forces. Under the name Cosmetic Marketing Group (CMG), they will introduce a package of services to the market. The idea behind the cooperation is to share knowledge of each member’s products, the general market and to develop joint marketing activities. This way the members


aim to improve their service level and process the market more efficiently.


In the CMG, the members bring together all their knowledge and share experiences to deal with the continuously changing market requirements and demands. The group members, and the cosmetics industry as a whole, stand to benefit from enhanced levels of cooperation. The companies involved are


BRB International (silicones), Geotech (special-effect pigments), Koster Keunen (waxes), Schülke & Mayr

(preservatives), Sigma Oil Seeds (natural oils & butters) and Sisterna (emulsifiers). The CMG is registered in the Netherlands where all the members are represented with offices and have direct access to laboratory facilities.


The introduction of the CMG comes with the presentation of six innovative product formulations for colour cosmetics and personal care. The formulations are a joint development of the group members and contain their latest innovative raw materials.


Taking into consideration that jojoba oil is a natural stabiliser for different oils, and the fact that fragrances are composed of volatile substances which evaporate over time, Jojoba Desert used the services of a professional laboratory in order to test if JD Jojoba Oil could stabilise fragrance materials by deceleration of their evaporation rate. During the first stage of the experiment, two samples of pure oils were tested – JD Jojoba Oil and Sweet Almond oil – combined with 5% of Geranium essential oil, test subjects evaluated the odour intensity during a three-hour timeframe. Both oils started with the same odour intensity. By the end of the experiment, the odour intensity in JD Jojoba Oil sample was higher than the odour intensity in the Almond oil, showing the evaporation rate of the essential oil from the JD Jojoba Oil sample was slower. In order to see whether this phenomenon would behave the same in a formula, the lab tested a sample of basic aqua cream formulation with both oils and Geranium essential oil as a perfume. In this case, after the cream application, the panellists were asked to rank the loss in odour intensity for each sample. After three hours, the essential oil evaporated in both products, resulting in the loss of odour intensity; however, in the case of formulation based on JD Jojoba Oil, the


evaporation rate was slower. JD Jojoba Oil enables the manufacturers and


consumers to enjoy the clean beauty trend without having to compromise on performance or on long- lasting scent.
