celule nucleate care circulă în
sângele gravidelor, una îşi are originea în organismul fetu-
sului. Celulele fetale din circulaţia maternă sunt de trei tipuri:
limfocite, eritroblaşti şi celule ale sinciţio-trofoblastului. Aces-
tea pot fi identificate şi izolate din sângele matern datorită
diferenţelor antigenice dintre mamă şi fetus. Din cele trei ti-
puri de celule prezente în sângele gravidei, eritroblaştii sunt
cei mai adecvaţi pentru depistarea prenatală a bolilor genetice
Confruntată cu o serie de dificultăţi, analiza celulelor fetale
de sângele matern - aflată încă la interfaţa dintre activitatea
de cercetare şi cea a prestării de servicii medicale - îşi va
dobândi, neîndoielnic, în următorii ani statutul de cea mai
fiabilă metodă de evaluare noninvazivă a calităţii produsu-
lui de concepţie
