2. Jessica is a personal-training client who is new to a gym setting and feels intimidated by her surroundings. She has never hired a personal trainer before and her previous physical activity included two yoga sessions each week and daily walks for 20 minutes. She is concerned because she has progressively gained weight over the past two years and would like help in losing it. After discussing her goals, you have her perform a battery of assessments to evaluate cardiorespiratory fitness, muscular fitness, flexibility, and body composition. What steps did you miss in the process of working with a new, insufficiently active client? What would you do differently and why? How might you make this interaction more client-centered?
