Iberchem cuts carbon emissions at HQ by 85%

Croda International’s Spanish subsidiary Iberchem cut carbon emissions by 85% at its Murcia headquarters between 2018 and 2021. Iberchem achieved this

milestone at the Alcantarilla site by installing LED lights and solar panels, and purchasing electricity from renewable sources and high- efficiency cogeneration companies. Iberchem’s efforts are aligned

to parent company Croda’s sustainability commitment, which sets a goal of a 50% reduction in scope 1 and 2 CO2 emissions by 2030 and zero emissions by 2050. Although the regulations only

require compliance with scopes 1 and 2, the company’s sustainability objectives go further. Iberchem is currently

implementing plans to reduce scope 3 emissions, seeking out, by way of an example, local waste management firms, in order to pursue the goal of zero decarbonization.

CLR expands international sales force

“Our commitment goes beyond

our headquarters,” said Iberchem health, safety and environment manager Jose Manuel Frutos. “In 2021, we launched a

decarbonization program for each of our 24 subsidiaries around the world, adding to the commitment of our parent company Croda to be Climate, Land and People positive by 2030,” he added.

the Alcantarilla site has received certification from the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO), as being able to deliver Certified Sustainable Palm Oil (CSPO) materials via Mass Balance. Iberchem’s headquarters joins

Croda’s 15 global manufacturing sites which are certified by the RSPO.
