LAW AND LEGAL AWARENESS
EUROPEAN LAW TRAINING
The European law training group has devised a structured series of courses designed to enable government lawyers to acquire and maintain an up to date and securely-based understanding of the theory and practice of European law.
In this programme, highly respected academics provide most of the teaching for the initial two stage theoretical training courses, while practising government lawyers are mainly responsible for designing and delivering the rest of the offering.
We recommend that you attend EU Core Course 1 (ECL1) before European Law Summer School (ECL2), and both of these before the Practical EU Law 1 and 2 (PEL1 and 2) courses, although we recognise that this is not always possible or practicable.
Check on the LION intranet at knowledgenetwork.gsi.gov.uk/lion for up to date information about all courses.
You may also be interested in the EU training offered by colleagues on the policy side, (see pages 30 and 31).
