Consultancy & Tailored Programmes
Consultancy and tailored programmes account for almost half of our work. Organisations across the public sector value working with us because of our knowledge of government. It gives us a unique perspective. And, if you are part of the Crown, you don’t need to tender to make use of our services.
Our consultancy brings objectivity, offers new insights and challenges ingrained thinking. Our interventions can provide the key to unlocking more effective performance within teams or organisations. These might be anything from a simple team event, to a full service programme including:
* Consultancy advice to help address priorities such as cost saving, employee engagement, performance measurement or capability reviews;
* Tailored programmes designed and delivered by experts from the National School’s faculty or our associates, covering topics as broad as strategy… or as specific as writing skills;
* Leadership development to stimulate organisational and culture change;
* Coaching for executives or teams;
* Tools such as 360° feedback and psychometric tests;
* Events that provoke and engage through interactive discussion, networking, learning and real-time problem-solving. We have extensive experience of co-ordinating large-scale events, and have unrivalled access to government and international speakers.
New thinking
As well as working with associates from industry and academia, the National School can also provide you with access to key research and new ideas. The Sunningdale Institute is our virtual academy of leading thinkers on organisational issues, public policy and service provision, and transformational change.
Worldwide
Our work isn’t just limited to the UK. Supporting the strategic priorities of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and the Department for International Development (DfID) is an essential part of our remit. Our international practice works with government administrations and public sector institutions worldwide to develop their organisations and staff, often in the face of post-conflict or transition challenges.

"The National School created two leadership events for us, built around Myers Briggs profiles and closer working relationships. These gave team members insight into each other and helped develop really effective ways of working – already we are seeing results with better cross-border sharing of information and ideas."
