PROGRAMME AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT FOR ALL

Project Management is now seen as a vital skill for virtually everyone. Following the core principles allows you to be better organised, manage risk and deliver better results. It’s part of how we do business these days. For major projects deeper professional expertise is required and, if you are leading them, being a qualified professional is essential. See our programme offer for professionals in the Professions section of this brochure (pages 90 to 92). Whatever your role we can provide you with the key skills and contextual advice. Programmes can be tailored to your specification, including timescale and location, or attend our open events to network with peers from across the public sector.

Project Management: Essentials

Benefits Management Masterclass

For Senior Responsible Owners (SRO), programme managers and business change managers. Benefits management is the identification of potential benefits, their planning, modelling and tracking; the assignment of responsibilities and authorities; and actual realisation of benefits as a result of investing in business change. Benefits management complements and overlaps investment appraisal in the business case. This programme, which takes the form of a very practical workshop based on real issues, provides you with the opportunity to think through how to tackle benefits management on your programmes and projects.

Stakeholder Management Workshop

For senior managers who depend on the support of a variety of stakeholders over whom they might have little or no direct authority e.g. Senior Responsible Owners (SROs), board members, project and programme managers. It has been well documented in recent years that the difficulties associated with managing major projects (e.g. technology, construction and engineering, organisational change) are very often human as opposed to technical. Research reports point to reasons such as bad communication, lack of management support and poor information management, as the main causes of project delay and failure. The ability to ensure maximum commitment, cooperation and approval from key stakeholders is critical. The focus of this workshop is to give you an opportunity to develop these vital skills.
