The Government Framework
For those who need a broad picture of the environment in which government operates.
This is a shorter alternative to Parliament, Government and the Civil Service (PGCS) (above) and is designed for those who wish to learn about the government framework in a littl less depth.
This programme covers the British Constitution, the role of Parliament, the Prime Minister and the Cabinet, and the structure of government, including Europe. It takes a look at the relationship between civil servants and Ministers and the influence of the media (all part of the Policy Delivery skills in Professional Skills for Government (PSG)).
Suitable for those on Fast Stream and other development programmes and is approved by the Government Economic Service. It is particularly suitable for people in professional roles.
‘An excellent programme full of useful information, delivered by experienced, heavyweight speakers. It far exceeded my goals.’
