Gas conveyor ovens are among the most energy-efficient and labor saving gas cooking technologies available. They provide operators with an automated, user-friendly, high-production cooking system that will turn out top quality food with speed and consistency.
Conveyor ovens can bake or roast a wide variety of items, from pizza and pans of frozen entrées, to casseroles, meats, breads and pastries. Generally, they will bake, reheat and finish food products two to four times faster than most conventional ovens.
Conveyor ovens can best be described as motorized, automatic horizontal cooking chambers with openings at each end. A wire mesh, continuous loop stainless steel conveyor belt moves products through the chamber. Products are simply placed on the belt at one end and removed when finished at the other.
Conveyor belt speeds and cooking temperatures can be preset to recipe specifications to ensure consistent food quality with no overcooking or undercooking. Gas conveyor oven manufacturers have improved energy efficiency by optimizing burner performance, reducing
fan speeds and
impingement air flow during down times resulting in the reduction of idle energy by as much as 35%. The heat distribution plates can be adjusted to provide zone cooking within the chamber.
Gas conveyor ovens take up comparatively little floor space considering their high production capabilities. High-volume kitchens may decide to stack the ovens up to four chambers high. Others may install a variety of single or stacked tandem units to provide longer cooking chambers.
Gas models are available with electronic temperature controls that can be mounted either on the cabinet or in a remote location for management control purposes.
