ingredients capable of producing an anti-ageing effect. A decrease of 5.1% in skin roughness was


detected on volunteers who applied the hydrolysed vegetable protein on their face. Clinical evaluation demonstrated a decrease in wrinkle visibility from “moderate” to “slight” (from 3 to 2 on Linkert scale), with the 55% of the volunteers having a visually appreciable effect. Volunteers were personally satisfied with the product, with a 70% reporting a good or


excellent impact on skin roughness, a 55% good or excellent wrinkle visibility and a 90% overall satisfaction. Again, results were statistically significant (Figure 4 and 5). For comparison, retinol derivatives,


considered the gold standard in anti-ageing cosmetic creams, have been shown to reduce skin roughness by 6.3% to 6.6% over a 28-day period.15


Conclusion The results obtained in this study and the


comparison with other soothing and anti-age active ingredients on the market clearly show that Transactiva’s polypeptides can be innovative products in the field of cosmetics. In fact, these proteins reduce skin irritation


effectively and in a very short time, making them very interesting for specific sectors closer to medicine such as dermocosmetics. Moreover, their production through PMF supports the rising demand for sustainable and green alternatives in cosmetics.
