2D chromatography Simplest form of multidimensional chromatography, involving two distinct chromatographic systems interfaced such that heart-cuts (also see ‘Heartcutting’) from the first are injected into the second. The result is combined chromatography that involves and benefits from the selectivities of both chromatographic dimensions, often with increased sensitivity as well as resolving power.
