406. relative error The difference between an estimate of a quantity and its true value. This difference (positive or negative) may be expressed either in the units in which the quantity is measured or as a percentage of the true value.
407. relative standard deviation (RSD) See ‘Coefficient of variation’.
408. repeatability Repeatability expresses the precision under the same operating conditions over a short interval of time. Repeatability is also synonymous with intra-assay precision.
409. reproducibility Reproducibility expresses the precision between multiple measurements of a sample or sample sets, which may include those between laboratories (collaborative studies, usually applied to standardization of methodology).
410. resolution A value allowing to evaluate the extent of separation of two or more compounds using a given technique, such as chromatography, electrophoresis or mass spectrometry.
