22. anti-idiotypic antibody Antibody that binds to the idiotope of another antibody; the variable part of an antibody including the unique antigen-binding site is known as the idiotype; the idiotopes are the combination of epitopes within the idiotype, and are unique for each antibody. Anti-idiotypic antibodies can be generated to bind specifically to one monoclonal antibody drug.
