Rosie’s Vineyard

 Location 87 Elm Grove, Southsea, Portsmouth, PO5 1JF t: 0844 683 1716 w: www.rosies-vineyard.co.uk e: rosies@rosies-vineyard.co.uk

Rosie’s looks like a small restaurant from the outside, but don’t be fooled – this popular restaurant is able to seat up to 120 people comfortably, and regularly does so. Start your meal at this homely, intimate bistro by sharing some of Rosie’s famous tapas and whichever one of their 50 wines you fancy, perhaps moving onto the wholesome beef Wellington. A large dessert menu is perfect for those who can’t resist spoiling themselves, and includes Rosie’s trio of desserts – featuring a mini brownie with chocolate sauce, a mini waffle with vanilla ice cream and a scoop of sorbet, it is the ultimate indulgence. The conservatory is a great place to unwind, and when it comes to putting on wedding parties Rosie’s certainly know what they’re doing. Check out the jazz nights that feature every Friday night and their Sunday roast with live jazz in the afternoon. No wonder Rosie’s has been delighting Southsea’s foodies for 28 years.

 Location 96a Albert Road, Southsea, Portsmouth, PO5 2SN t: 0844 683 6659 w: www.casadecastro.co.uk e: contact@casadecastro.co.uk

Casa De Castro is a beautiful, quaint little café situated on Albert Road in Southsea. Home to only a handful of tables, it’s a great place to enjoy some delicious handmade cakes, sweets and savouries in a quiet and relaxed atmosphere. Owned by a French and Brazilian husband-and-wife team, Casa De Castro seems a world away from the bustle of Southsea.

The window boasts an impressive display of cakes and sweets to tickle your tastebuds, with everything from chocolate cake and cinnamon buns to lemon tartlets. If you don’t have a sweet tooth there are plenty of savouries to try out too, including quiches, croissants and Brazilian items such as coxinha. With food this sublime, Casa De Castro is one of Southsea’s best-kept secrets – but I doubt it will remain a secret for much longer.
