There is actually no Despicable Me movie in 2014 (the Minions film having been moved back to 2015), but expect enthusiasm for the brand to continue regardless....The Star Wars franchise will continue to build towards the release of the new movie next year, while the release of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy aims to establish the brand as the third long-term pillar in the Marvel universe....The second film in the Spider- Man ‘reboot’ debuts in the UK in April, which will undoubtedly result in an increase in toy sales....Hopes are also high for the new Transformers 4 movie in July, with the licensing programme looking stronger than ever....The new Lego movie will undoubtedly benefit licensees as well as the core brand and on a personal level, I’m looking forward to the Muppets Most Wanted.
