www.ravensburger.com Ravensburger has added nine new properties to its licence portfolio, The Hungry Caterpillar, The Gruffalo, Woolly and Tig, In the Night Garden, Disney Henry Hugglemonster, The Ultimate Spider-man, The Amazing Spider-man 2, The Muppets 2 and Planes Fire and Rescue.
The company is also adding new introductions to established, well-loved characters including Octonauts, Thomas & Friends, Bob the Builder, Dora the Explorer, Disney Minnie & Mickey Mouse, Cars, Princess, Doc McStuffi ns, Finding Nemo, Frozen and Sofi a the First. It is also broadening its generic offering across
several key areas including a new ‘my fi rst’ fl oor puzzle range (carefully researched and developed for two-year olds), bright, colourful and entertaining ‘fun-to-learn’ 60-piece fl oor puzzles, and 10 new titles across the company’s 100-, 200- and 300-piece XXL ranges. With sales growing 25% during 2013, superb consumer feedback and over 40 new titles launched for Spring/Summer, the company is focused on its adult puzzle
range. Formats vary from 500 to 32,000 pieces, and everything is backed by the company’s ‘soft-click’ technology, which delivers the high quality. Sales of Ravensburger’s 3D puzzle range grew by 33% in 2013, with new additions, Taj Mahal and lighthouse, plus favourites like the One Direction puzzleball. Ravensburger can also provide classic game concepts like Labyrinth (one of 2013’s successes, backed by TV advertising) and eagerly anticipated licensed games based on The Gruffalo and The Hungry Caterpillar. The company is also launching two new, original craft concepts: Mosaic (create your own designs using colourful mosaic tiles) and So Styly (Tattoos and Friendship bracelets), whilst Prehistoric Expedition joins its popular Science X range.

www.rudolfstein.com About to make an impact on the collectables market are Mascots, the collectable kids accessories which are being launched with leading licences and previewed at the London Toy Fair. Mascots are an inventive, yet simple, concept: attachable leading licence characters which take collectibility to the next level. Kids can build, store and display their collections in a wide variety of ways, attaching them to bikes, scooters, phones, bags, trainers, headphones, windows and much more. Such is the interest already in this new concept that licensing managers at Rudolf Stein are launching only with leading licences Skylanders Swap Force, My Little Pony, Moshi Monsters and The Trash Pack. Many more licences are lined up for future Mascot editions. Luke Duncan, licensing manager for the brand, said: “This is a
very exciting time for us at the moment, with very positive initial reactions and great feedback from our market research. We can’t wait to show off our product and are busy fi nalising concepts for the second edition of Mascots. We are also going to be signifi cantly extending the product offering as a whole. It’s going to be a very busy trade show season for us.” Designed to be collected and displayed in multiple ways, Mascots come with simple attachments which join on to the main toy easily and which then attach to other objects. A plastic sucker attaches them straight on to surfaces like bedroom windows, phones or pencil cases. A solid cylinder with a slit clamps them on to bike spoke, headphone cords or trainer laces, and the strap option fi ts a scooter or bike handlebars. Mascots will be previewed exclusively on the Click Distribution stand. The initial launch for mass retail kicks off in April 2014 and the
fi rst ranges will be available for Autumn Winter 2014. Rudolf Stein will be looking to launch series two in December for the Spring Summer 2015 season. Mascots are offered into key retail price points: the ultra collectable blind bags retail at £1.49, the Stackable Containers at £3.99, and the Collectors Case at £9.99.
