LeapFrog set for more pioneering launches

eapFrog will be kicking off 2014 with the next generation tablet, the LeapPad2 Custom Edition. Now customisable in over 100 different ways, children won’t be short of options to personalise their LeapPad2. The Custom Edition comes


with ten interchangeable sticker skins, both pre- designed and colour-your-own, as well as matching digital wallpapers. Built to be kid-tough, LeapPad2 Custom Edition has the same robust performance as its predecessor with even more content. Aimed at children aged 3-9 years, it comes complete with a built- in front-and-back camera and video recorder, and a 4GB memory, enough room to store 20,000 pictures. LeapFrog’s extensive library of educator-approved content is also set to be extended with a host of brand new games, apps and videos. 2014 will see the release of brand new learning experiences which include some popular kids’ characters including Sofia the First and Disney-Pixar Planes. The offering for complete learn-to-read-and-write solution, LeapReader, is also set to be extended with new licensed properties for its range of books and audio books including the popular Doc McStuffins and a new Disney Pixar title, which offers children an immersive learning experience with their favourite Disney-Pixar characters. International marketing director, Sally Plumridge, commented: “We have a proven track record of reinvigorating our sector with ground-breaking new products, and 2014 is set to be our best year yet. Our latest lineup will make an impressive impact on arrival and build even further on the success of a groundbreaking 2013 for LeapFrog.” LeapFrog will also be celebrating the ongoing success of two of its milestone 2013 launches at Toy Fair, the Wi-Fi enabled LeapPad Ultra learning tablet, and LeapReader. Since launch in Summer 2013, both products have


received positive feedback from parents, industry professionals, and educators alike, and received award wins at the Toy Talk Awards, Dream Toys and Creative Play Awards. LeapReader has succeeded to claim its spot in the top 50 toys in the total market and has been ranked number eight in the infant and pre- school category year-to-date. LeapPad Ultra has also hit the number one spot in the Top 50 items in total market category in the lead up to Christmas, as well as being included in the Dream Toys list of top toys this Christmas.

At Toy Fair, LeapFrog will also champion the success of its plush learning toy, Read With Me Scout. The interactive reading companion for children aged 2-5 years was LeapFrog’s biggest learning toy launch to date, and will sit alongside the brand’s newest learning toy developments for 2014 as an exemplary model of LeapFrog’s continued success and expertise in this field.


There will be six brand new learning toy product launches in 2014 which introduce exciting ways to play with new and existing LeapFrog characters, whilst exploring a range of play patterns and offering educational entertainment. Sally Plumridge added: “We really believe we can set new industry benchmarks next year with our innovations and look forward to revealing more at this year’s Toy Fair.
