Hotel organisation
e) Caravan and Camping Accommodation A Caravan and Camping Park is a facility that provides space for guests who provide their own accommodation, such as a tent, a motor home and/or a caravan, together with ablution and toilet facilities.
f) Meetings, Exhibitions and Special Events (MESE) Venues A facility that provides a dedicated environment for meetings, especially small to medium-sized events. Dedicated meeting and breakaway rooms are designed for maximum productivity. To minimise distractions, these rooms tend to be separated from food service facilities and high traffic areas. Meeting rooms are clustered near one another and interspersed with informal gathering spaces, such as lounges, patios and courtyards. Tis layout encourages interaction and networking among attendees, even those participating in different meetings.
4.2 The application of the grading and classification scheme Te application and the assessment process of the TGCSA can be explained as follows:
• Identify the establishment: determine which of the 9 categories the establishment fits into (for example hotel or B&B, etc.).
• Applicants must then grade themselves: from One Star to Five Stars. • Complete an Online Application form: fill in all the important details. • Choose an assessor – select preferred assessor that’s close the local establishment.
• Settle the invoice: once received from the TGCSA, it must be settled before an assessor can visit the establishment.
• Make an appointment with the assessor: the assessor completes the assessment at the establishment.
• Grading submissions take place: the assessor submits the recommended Star Grade and motivation behind it to the monthly Awards Committee meeting for approval.
• Establishment is officially welcomed to the TGCSA: if approved by the committee, the establishment will receive a full report on the grading assessment.
• Te certificate is sent to the establishment: it must be on display in the reception area.
• Te Star Grading plaque will be sent to the establishment: it must also be displayed with the certificate.
• In order for the grading to remain valid it must be renewed annually by a TGCSA Accredited Grading Assessor.
• If an establishment should wish not to renew their grading, they must remove all marketing collateral of the TGCSA.
• Should an establishment not be happy with the assessment, then there is an appeals procedure in place that an establishment can follow.
4.3 The main benefits of the scheme
• Consumer confidence: it is an advantage graded establishments have over all ungraded establishments.
• Profiled in all TGCSA marketing campaigns: this includes above-the-line (traditional) advertising like TV, Radio, Print and Outdoor, as well as below-the-line advertising such as Promotions, Online and Public Relations.
• Use of the TGCSA logo in marketing material like print ads, business cards, websites, brochures, letterheads, etc.
