Important notices
The University makes all reasonable effort to ensure that all information in this prospectus is correct at time of going to print (January 2011). However, as this prospectus is printed as far in advance as possible to assist prospective applicants, changes to content will inevitably arise and the University reserves the right to vary, add to or delete any information in this prospectus.
This prospectus describes programmes offered by the University. Should you become a student of the University, you will receive further documents describing the teaching, examination, assessment, accommodation and other services offered by the University.
Programmes may be discontinued, changed or combined with other programmes where the University considers such action to be reasonably necessary. Applicants and students will receive as much notice as possible of any changes which affect them.
If a programme is cancelled or substantially varied, students may withdraw from that programme or (depending on availability) apply for another programme. An appropriate refund of any tuition fees and deposits will be made to affected students who tell the University in writing they are leaving the University.

If the supply of any of the University’s services is prevented or delayed because of circumstances outside the University’s reasonable control then, although the University will take reasonable steps to avoid or minimise any disruption, it will not have any further liability.
The personal information provided by you as both an applicant and as a registered student will be held and processed by the University in accordance with its notification to the Information Commissioner and as required by the Data Protection Act 1998.
The University reserves the right to make additional charges for certain services. Students will be notified in advance of any such charges. All students are subject to the rules, regulations and procedures of the University in accordance with its Royal Charter. If you would like more information regarding these, please contact us.
Employment statistics The employment statistics included have been taken from the responses to the Destination of Leavers from Higher Education (DLHE) survey 2009, based on those with known destinations. We are therefore unable to provide employment statistics for those programmes running
in 2012 which have either changed significantly since they were undertaken by 2009 graduates, were new programmes introduced after this time, were not requested by HESA, or had a sample size fewer than ten students.
NSS 2009 The National Student Survey (NSS) is carried out each year by Ipsos MORI on behalf of HEFCE. All undergraduate students from across the UK who are in the final year of their programmes are invited to go online to complete questions about their HE experience. The full results for 2009 may be viewed on
www.unistats.com. The information is published in a standardised form which uses JACS codes and general subject titles to cover a range of programmes.
Disabled access Wheelchair users are welcome and should be able to take any route across campus. All buildings have level or ramped access and all buildings on the campus have lifts except Horlock and Constantine Courts.
